A regal, queer spin on Marie Antionette
“We wanted to put a spin on the traditional story of Marie Antoinette and Versailles, and reimagined it as if things had gone differently for Louis and he ended up with a groom instead.
We used a classically French venue in Los Angeles, The Ebell of Los Angeles (a women’s club from the 1920s) and incorporated some of our favorite wedding vendors and themes. We wanted to pay homage to Sofia Coppola’s 2006 “Marie Antoinette” and had the film projected as a backdrop, and incorporated a lot of the event design around the luxurious color palette. So many of the images we see in the wedding industry are traditional, heterosexual, and rarely feature any people of color. We believe that weddings are for everyone and celebrate diversity and inclusion in our brands and wanted to create something fresh and different.” -Heartthrob Weddings for Equally Wed
